V/A – Dungeons & Catacombs II (2017)

The sequel to the excellent D&C compilation continues in much of the same vein; showcasing a surprisingly wide variety of artists that adopt the “dungeon synth” moniker. I would say for the most part, like 80% of this stuff is really good. There are some moments towards the end where certain sounds / experiments don’t really gel all that well (there’s a song with drums for example, that just kills the vibe entirely), but for the most part this is a very nice little comp and a great followup to the original.
