Black metal just the way I like it, fam. Fucking stinking! Yes, MK sounds like he’s drumming on an industrial-sized tub of full fat mayonnaise instead of a snare drum, but if anything this “rustic” approach to drums adds to the janky, raw nature of this uncompromising assault of the sense. 666 (what a title!) verges on the tropes of war metal ever so dangerously, but retains a smattering of icy cold riffs and precise double bass sessions that retain order throughout the murky chaos. Tidy.
