Belial – Never Again (1993)

I must have been living under a frigging rock to get to July 2024 without having heard this masterpiece of messy primitive black metal. In my head it’s like Impaled Nazarene meets Beherit (and no, not on a live split LP lol), with scuzzy electronics from gory video games like Doom used to intersperse the tracks of sonic metal carnage. This shit is unholy as fuck, heavy as fuck, and the production is oddly crystal clear, especially with the production, which gives the whole thing an extra (frostbitten) mule kick to the teeth. Fucking great shit.
