Sir Lord Baltimore – The Complete Recordings (2020)

I had a recent dabble into what could be called proto-metal (basically anything that pre-dated Black Sabbath’s self titled record yet was also very heavy). Sir Lord Baltimore are often a name thrown about for contenders who pipped Sabbath to the post for starting the heavy metal genre. The only thing available on Spotify is the complete works so I figured I’d give the whole thing a bash.

Honestly, Kingdom Come (1970) is great but but otherwise the tracks here are pretty terrible. OK, the 1971 self titled is half decent, but the comeback record of 2006 is pretty damn poor. I wouldn’t be returning, I’ll put it that way.
