Fear Factory – Soul Of A New Machine (1992)

Fear Factory’s debut (well, the ‘debut’ that actually got released lol) is a perfect distillation of death metal meeting industrial. Coming on like a mix of Harmony Corruption era Napalm Death and Selfless era Godflesh, Soul Of A New Machine is much different from a lot of the band’s more well known stuff.

Honestly, the mix is great, and as someone who has always enjoyed Fear Factory, and who loves ND / Godflesh, going back and checking out this album was a smart move. Heck, let’s just straight up attribute this entire record’s existence to Justin K Broadrick and be done with it.
